East Coast artist collaborate for creative summer tour

June 27, 2009)--- Hot weather and hot music simply go together. With that, M1 Platoon wants to set your summer right by bringing you some of the best music you've never heard for the Generation Next tour.

Featuring some of the hottest up-and coming acts such as G-5 Clive, Carlitta Durand and Fat Snacks, GENERATION NEXT will provide an eclectic mix of hip-hop, r&b and jazz to open your world to a "new type" of sound.

M1 Platoon, hailing from the DMV collectively embody the essence of classic hip-hop groups with the youth of the present and hope of the future. Heavily influenced by reggae, go-go, rap and soul, the steam coming from their music burns through any stereo!

Carlitta Durand's talent goes without question as her sound is reminiscent of the be-bop sound of the Harlem Renaissance mixed with hip-hop rocks! Her current work with Phonte of Little Brother and Nicolay depict her promising future.

Fat Snacks, a band whose members perform all around the country, provide an interesting contrast as they adapt to any musical sound, having the ability to range their guitar chords and drum sticks between hip-hop jazz, rock, scat and soul.

Special performing acts such as FSR, G5 Clive and Phocuz will bring an element from the city they'll be representing. Check out their pages on Facebook!

M1 Platoon launches Phase II of "Put It On You Hard" campaign

Group challenges fans to show how they represent the music

(June 6, 2009) Imagine how Mike Epps felt when he laid out his school clothes and told everyone "Imma kill'em in the morning!" Feeling pretty hyped, right? This is the feeling that M1 Platoon portrays through their single, "Put It On You Hard." The DMV-based hip-hop group invites you on a summer night in DC with the sound of cool air, concrete and carefree swag...but on the listener's terms.

Phase II invites fans to represent how they would "put it on you hard" by recording a short video clip at their favorite spot, hanging with their favorite folks, or just getting fresh to be best dressed...for whatever!

Listeners can simply record their video and upload to YouTube with the title "(Insert Name Here) can "Put It On You Hard"!!! Easy as that. Or email it to m1platoon@gmail.com.

Videos will then be posted on M1 Platoons main blogsite, http://www.m1platoon.blogspot.com.Check out Danny Miles's video clip that was made to the song "Swagidout" from M1 Platoon's latest mixtape, "We Not Them pt. II- All 4 U" .
